Almond Milk is a great alternative to traditional cow milk, and has been used for centuries this way. It happens with a process of Almonds soaked and shelled, then blended to create a milk that is off the charts for nutrition. This milk is packed with antioxidants and Vitamin E and the flavonoids help clear free radicals from the body. I transitioned from buying cow milk to only almond milk 6 months ago. This was honestly the best change in my diet, it really created a better foundation for my body for my mornings protein shakes. Everyday I just simply felt better, and I never felt the bloated feeling again from cow milk. I decided to put it to the test. First I tried a bowl of cereal, and score! It tasted delicious and normal. Then next I made pasta that needed a bit of milk in it, it came out completely the same no taste differences! So it passed my vote on all levels for health. Of course cow milk has its own nurtrients, but I like the benefits the almond milk has to offer!


Growing your own garden. May 5, 2011

So it’s that time of year. Where people start seeds from start or they buy small plants from stores. I personally have a mix of both. I have always grown a garden this time of year for about 5 years now. Some have been extravagant, and some small. This year I would say is relatively smaller than normal. I originally got the inspiration from my grandmother.  She loves to grow tomatoes, green beans, eggplant, squash, and strawberries. She also has herbs like rosemary and thyme.  I look up to her love for the earth so much, as I believe sometimes life revolved around technology can easily make us forget the importance of life and earth. She is everything you think of a grandmother I call her Oma.

This is her garden this year.

My garden is much smaller, and I post pictures of them tomorrow. Just thought I’d share how beautiful my gma’s work is.


Simple Homemade Organic Pizza April 27, 2011

Pizza is one of my favorite foods, so I decided to post a recipe for organic pizza! Yum! I love blending cooking and using fresh organic products together to make one sweet recipe.  Remember, you can switch around the organic products for non organic and mix and match. It is completely up to you! Be creative and most importantly have fun!!


  • 1 cup organic whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup organic white flour
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tbsp organic sugar organic honey, or agave syrup
  • 1 tbsp organic extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup organic tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of shredded or finely diced organic mozzarella cheese


1.) In large bowl mix both flours and olive oil.

2.)In a cup add warm (not hot) water, yeast, and whichever sweetener you prefer.

3.) Pour liquid into flour mixture and knead with your hands until it becomes a uniform dough.

4.) Remove the dough from bowl and place on a cutting board lightly greased with olive oil and continue kneading dough for about five minutes.

5.) Grease large bowl lightly and return dough ball to bowl.

6.) Cover bowl with a large warm damp dish towel and let dough rise for about an hour. NOTE: Do not let dish towel touch dough.(keeps moisture and warmth in dough)



7.)preheat oven to 400 degrees Farenheit.

8.)Stretch dough onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Add about 3 tbsp’s of tomato sauce to dough spreading thinnly. PLace in oven for 5 minutes.

9.)Remove from oven and replace the remaining sauce onto top of dough. Add mozzarella cheese in an even layer across dough and sauce. (This is the part to add whatever other toppings you desire!)

10.) PLace in oven for about 10 mintues, and watch for cheese to start to bubble and turn brown.

11.) Let pizza cool down as it will be hot! Then Enjoy!
