I transitioned from buying cow milk to only almond milk 6 months ago. This was honestly the best change in my diet, it really created a better foundation for my body for my mornings protein shakes. It tasted delicious and normal. Then next I made pasta that needed a bit of milk in it, it came out completely the same no taste differences! So it passed my vote on all levels for health. Of course cow milk has its own nurtrients, but I like the benefits the almond milk has to offer!

 

Organic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe August 27, 2012

 

My love for organic recipes did not stop there!! I have been searching for the ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe!!! And found it!  Enjoy! =]

 

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup organic butter
  • 1/2 cup organic white sugar
  • 1 cup packed organic brown sugar
  • 1 egg- organic,
  • 1 tsp organic vanilla
  • 2 cups unbleached organic flour
  • 2 cups organic chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt

 

Directions:

Turn on oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.

Grease cookie pan, or use wax paper on cookie sheet.

Add and mix all dry ingredients in one bowl (flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt)

Add butter and mix with mixer(or by hand)

Add egg and vanilla, and dough should be forming not too dry, not too wet.

Add chocolate chips!!

Take a teaspoon or dough at a time and shape cookies into small spheres.

Line cookies on greased pan and pop into the oven.

Cook for about 8-10 mins, or until golden brown.

Mean Green Machine! Green Juice that keeps you healthy! August 8, 2012

This juice is amazing!! At first, I thought it looked green and that it might taste bad, but was I wrong!! It is so yummy and healthy! It has a blend of kiwi, apples, pineapple, many green and delicious fruits!! It also has a kick of other ingredients that aren’t in our daily diet, but are necessary for healthy functioning of our bodies.

 Spirulina, chollera, broccoli, garlic, blue green algae, barley grass the list goes on.

I would love to post the importance of each of these items, because we americans seriously lack vitamins and minerals in our diets. One cup is a serving, so this big bottle comes with a couple days worth of yumminess. It is made by Boathouse farms, which is just as good as the same type of thing made by Naked Juices. There is also a million other flavors, with different types of fruit and combos. This green one is definetly the most power packed with minerals. I bought it at my local Stater Bros Grocery Store, and should be available any where near you. =]

 

Organic Blueberry Muffin Recipe August 6, 2012

 

 

Its time for more delicious recipes!! This one is one of my favorites, and makes about 6 giant muffins. Perfect for breakfast, and healthy for anyone!!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 23 minutes

Total Time: 33 minutes
Yield: 6 Huge Muffins

Serving Size: 1 Muffin

Ingredients:

(Ingredients can be switched around from organic to non organic depending on availability, and cost, and if you want more double up on the ingredients)

•1/4 cup coconut flour
•1/3 cup unbleached organic flour
•1/4 tsp unrefined sea salt
•3/4 tsp baking soda
•2 tbsp unrefined coconut palm sugar or 1 tbsp raw honey (your choice)
•1/2 cup unsweetened organic applesauce
•4 organic eggs
•1/4 cup organic coconut oil (melted and cooled)
•1 tsp organic vanilla extract
•1 cup frozen organic wild blueberries

Directions:

1.Preheat oven to 375 F.
2.In a small bowl mix together, coconut flour, organic  flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside.
3.In a larger bowl whisk together eggs, coconut oil, unsweetened applesauce, coconut palm sugar, and vanilla extract.
4.Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
5.Fold in wild blueberries.
6.Grease a muffin tin with coconut oil.
7.Pour batter into muffin pan, filling each muffin almost to the top.
8.Bake for 23 minutes or until lightly browned.

Close your eyes and put the cucumber slice on them for as long as needed.

You will feel it as soon as you put them on.

Cool Cucumber Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

– 3 medium cucumbers, peeled, seeded, and cut into 1/4-inch slices

– 1 carrot, peeled and shredded

– 1/2 red onion, sliced paper-thin

– 1/3 cup minced cilantro

Dressing:

– 1/2 cup rice vinegar

– 2 tsp. honey

– 2 tsp. Reduced-sodium soy sauce

– 1 1/2 tsp. toasted sesame oil

– Pinch dried red pepper flakes

Preparation per 8 servings:

Preparation time: 25 minutes

Marinating time: one hour

1. Combine the cucumbers, carrots, red onion, and cilantro in a large bowl.

2. Combine the dressing ingredients. Pour dressing over cucumbers, cover, and refrigerate for one hour. Salad may be eaten with a fork.

Organic Cheese Cake Recipe June 13, 2011

So my love for Organic cake recipes does not stop at Red Velvet Cake. I enjoy Cheese Cake, perhaps more than Red Velvet. The mixture of cheese and cream adds so much delight to a dessert. I love it so much, I went off finding a recipe that is organic, and still delicious. At leasts its healthier, right?

REMEMBER:: You can substitute all ingredients for organic ingredients, or you can only substitute a few. It is completly up to you and your budget. The creativity makes it your own personal recipe. Plus some ingredients are difficult to find as organic.

So to start with you need::

Ingredients:
For the Crust
1 1/2 cups fine graham cracker crumbs
5 tablespoons unsalted organic butter, melted

For the Filling
1 pound cream cheese organic softened to room temperature

1 cup organic sugar

6 large organic egg yolks3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 1/2 teaspoons organic vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

3 cups organic sour cream

Directions::

1.)  Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease the bottom and sides of an 8 x 2 1/2-inch pan or a circular pan, whichever you prefer.

2.)  In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter. Press this mixture into the base of the prepared pan and partway up the sides, using your fingers or the back of a spoon. Use a flat-bottomed glass to press the crumbs smoothly and firmly into place. Wrap the outside of the pan in a double layer of heavy aluminum foil to prevent leaking.

3.)  Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl until very smooth, about 3 minutes, scraping the bowl and beaters as needed. Beat in the egg yolks, beating until the batter is smooth and scraping down the sides as necessary. Add the lemon juice, vanilla, and salt and beat until mixed well. Beat in the sour cream just until blended.

4.)  Pour the batter into the prepare pan. Set the pan inside a larger pan (a 12- x 12-inch cake pan, for example) and surround it with 1 inch of very hot water. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes.

5.)  Turn off the oven without opening the door and let the cake cool for 1 hour inside. Transfer the cheesecake to a rack (the center will still be jiggly) and cool to room temperature, about 1 hour. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least six hours or overnight.

6.) After you set it out on a platter, you can use organic strawberries, blueberries, zest of lemon, or drizzles of chocolate to make your cheesecake have even more flavor and to ehance to the looks of your cheescake. Your guests will be in awe of your baking skills, and it makes it so much more unique, than plain cheesecake. Remember this is your recipe, and whatever you like on top of cheesecake, follow your heart and do it!

Serves 12.

A Face Mask the Natural Way.

Ingredients:
1. 1 Avacado (ripe)
2. 2 tbsp plain yogurt

Cut avacado in half and take seed out. Take out green part of avacado and put in a bowl. Mush it into a gucamole like texture. Add plain yogurt and stir evenly. Spread on face, avoiding eyes. Let sit for 20 minutes. Wash off and feel how smooth your face will be!
(If you are allergic to these ingredients, you can substitute them both or one for sour cream. Have fun with it, its up to you! )
